Region Fiesch

Fiesch and the Aletsch Glacier, the longest glacier in the Alps, are part of the great Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn area. In 2001, because of its unique beauty, this was the first area in the Alps to be placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

From Chalet Roland, all facilities, e.g. the bus and train station, the valley station of the cable car, the supermarkets, bakeries, sports stores, travel agency, restaurants, pharmacy and doctors can be reached in 5 to 10 minutes.

From Fiesch, the Fiescher Alp at 2200m and higher up the Eggishorn at 2900m can be reached by cable car. There you can enjoy an unequalled and unique view of the 4000m high mountain tops, such as the Mönch, the Jungfrau and the Eiger. You can also admire the unsurpassed majesty of the Matterhorn and the Aletsch Glacier in their full glory.

Fiesch and the whole region surrounding Fiesch is an eldorado for hikers (Fiescher Alp, Bettmer Alp, Rieder Alp), mountain bikers (Obergoms), paragliders, delta flyers (Fieschertal), swimmers (Fiesch, Reckingen and Brig), tennis players (Fiesch) and golf plaers (9-hole golf courses in Obergesteln, and on the Rieder Alp). Under the supervision of experienced mountain guides from the well-known Bergsteigerschule in Fiesch, multi-day tours can be arranged.

Binn, the end village of the well-known mineral-rich Binntal, a side valley of the Rhone Valley is very well-known to mineral hobbyists. Minerals can be sought on the slopes and many people find them. There is also a mineral museum.

Ernen: The summer concerts in the magnificent church of Ernen are an absolute must for music lovers.
